3Digify is developed by a small team of three persons and is based on our research experience in the field of computer vision and image processing. Our research was honored with a prestigious Google Research Award and an Autodesk best paper award.

Dr. Tobias Nöll
Dr. Tobias NöllCo-founder
Starting in April 2004 Tobias studied Computer Science with a focus on Visualization Systems and Technomathematics at the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. In July 2009 he finished his studies with a German diploma degree (MS equivalent) in Computer Science. In November 2009 he joined the Augmented Vision group at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Kaiserslautern. In September 2015 he earned a PhD in the fields of shape and appearance acquisition with the overall goal of photo-realistic object reconstruction.
Dr. Johannes Köhler
Dr. Johannes KöhlerCo-founder
Johannes studied computer science at the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany with a focus on visualization systems and technomathematics. Research topics during his studies included volume rendering and multimodal visualization. He finished university with a diploma thesis on robust detection and identification of circular markers in July 2009. In November 2009 he joined the Augmented Vision group at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence and earned a PhD in the field of 3D reconstruction in November 2015. Together with Tobias he developed several novel 3D scanners.
Dr. Bernd Krolla
Dr. Bernd KrollaCo-founder
Bernd studied Physics with the minor subjects Computer Science and Business Studies at the University of Kaiserslautern in Germany. During his diploma thesis he researched metamaterial-based optical components for terahertz radiation and realized a metamaterial-based gradient index lens for terahertz radiation. He advanced his programming skills during his studies at Joseph Fourier University in Grenoble (France) as well as during his internship at Deutsche Börse Systems in Frankfurt. In January 2011, he joined the Augmented Vision Group at German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) for pursuing a PhD in the field of computer vision. He joined the 3Digify team in October 2015.
